Bicycle Design on Instagram

Hello…is this thing on? It’s been quite a while, but some of you may still be subscribed to the old RSS feed (is that still a thing?). If you do somehow find this post, I want to let you know that I just started posting again on the @bicycledesign Instagram account. I plan to update Instagram primarily going forward, but the Twitter and Facebook accounts will remain active too (mainly just auto-posting from Instagram).

Who knows… I may even start occasionally posting on the blog again too. I am sure that it would take quite a bit of time to rebuild the community after three years away, but I really do miss it, so the effort might be worthwhile. I don’t want to get ahead of myself though. For now. I’ll just see how it goes resurfacing on social media. I hope that you will follow along… and maybe even contribute some of your ideas and designs.

I am oldfashioned. I prefer blogs, where I can decide when I read an article and group my various blogs. Not so easy possible when you are in the ad world with fb/twitter and so on.

Some of us still use RSS!

    Good to see you back….

    Please keep posting here.

RSS consolidates hundreds of sources in one place. You can’t do that on Instagram (or any modern social network, for that matter).

Social networks force us to check a dozen of separate apps with separate accounts (why do I need an account to read?), and they spam us with bloats of meaningless notifications.

And don’t get me started on privacy…

Yes, more RSS feeds. Break free of the walled gardens of Facebook, Twitter and Instagramm

Thanks for the comments and feedback. Right now, the posts that I am sharing on Instagram are short and quick (often reshares). If I start posting here again, I will want to go into a bit more depth than that. Time is limited with other projects, but I am considering reviving the blog. For now, the focus on social media is a bit of a trial run

…and if the blog ever does start again, it’s good to know that a few people are still subscribed to the old feed.

I don’t do twitter or instagram, etc, but would certainly enjoy seeing updates on the old website that I used to enjoy.

I am glad to have found you again & it’s nice you are back. I am also not a fan of instagram, but I will follow you & see if like you it works out.
