It has been a month or so since I posted a few of the concept bikes and products from TrekWorld 2011. Today, I want to pass along a couple more one off concept bikes, along with the stories behind them from the designers at Trek. Enjoy! Sasquatch What would a cruiser mashup look like?…

Bontrager commuter helmet and casual apparel
Quite a few things have been distracting me from the blog lately- a heavy workload, my kid’s ‘back to school’ activities, and a couple of pressing local bike advocacy issues. On top of all that, I am trying to follow that new race in Colorado, which I can never seem to remember the official name…

Bontrager computer/stem integration concept
Another concept design fresh from Trek World 2012 is this Bontrager stem concept by Ryan Hahn, an industrial designer in Trek’s road group. The concept, which has a removable computer integrated into the magnesium stem, has been dubbed “Computermatron Stemigration” by Ryan. Trek World 09
Last week, I mentioned the trouble I was having getting past the Great Firewall of China. Just when I was starting to figure out a few workarounds, I had another problem… the harddrive on my laptop decided to give up. Since I was traveling with a dead computer (which was not fun to lug around),…

Gary Fisher on the El Ranchero
I was in a rush last week when I posted those photos from Trek World. I didn’t have time to elaborate on any of the bikes, but I was glad to see some good discussion about them in the comments. For those of you who don’t read the comments section (you should), I want to…

Designs from Trek World 09
Posting twice in one day is rare for me, but a friend who was at the “backstage” event at Trek World 09 the last couple days sent me these photos of the Trek District (top), Fisher El Ranchero (middle), and new Trek Soho (bottom). The El Ranchero is just a design study, but the others…
