It is hard to believe, but it was five years ago today that I started Bicycle Design. As I mentioned in a post at the 2-year mark, I started the blog on a whim back in September of 2005. I found a few of my old bike renderings on a CD that day, so I just decided to start a free Blogger blog and post them to the web. Five years later the blog has grown and evolved quite a bit, but it is still something I really enjoy. I won’t recap everything I wrote in that 2-year post, but I do want to mention again that it’s all of you readers who keep me interested in continuing the site. Thanks to all of you who read and comment… I really do appreciate the interaction.

Congratulations! I’ve been a long-time reader but haven’t yet commented. Your blog is one of my favorites (and I follow 50+ of them!), so I’m always on the lookout for a new post from you. Your thoughts about bikes in general are very similar to mine so I enjoy reading your insights and commentaries. Keep up the good work!
Nice bike rendering, by the way.

Must be easy when there’s so many students learning CAD willing to put out poorly thought concepts because they look sleek! Just pulling your leg… Thanks for maintaining a great blog. It’s always fun to see the new and upcoming bike gear, even if some of it is just CAD porn.

Ha ha…you know you wouldn’t keep coming back if it weren’t for the occasional CAD porn.

Well done James -
Congrats! I built my velomobile in 2004, and looked up ‘design’ right after I finished; so I was one of your first fans I suppose. Thanks for many years of happiness!
