Last week, I mentioned the trouble I was having getting past the Great Firewall of China. Just when I was starting to figure out a few workarounds, I had another problem… the harddrive on my laptop decided to give up. Since I was traveling with a dead computer (which was not fun to lug around), I am bit behind on email at this point. Bear with me if you sent something and it takes a while for me to respond. I will post a few bike related observations from the trip soon, but for now I just want to post quickly about something going on at the moment.
Trek World just took place in Madison Wisconsin. The guys from Bike Hugger were there and they have one of the best photosets from the event that I have seen so far. Also, it appears that they have interviews with 3 of the Trek industrial designers that are yet to be posted. Some of you will recognize the name of at least one of those guys. Check back with Bike Hugger for the complete interviews.
Pictured here is the Phase high performance e-bike, which (if I am not mistaken) was designed by Michael Leighton. I will post more about this bike, and the other new Trek bikes, when I get a chance. For now, keep checking out Bike Hugger for more and let me know if you see other sources of good coverage from Trek World.
Correction: Apparently I was mistaken. Joe Lintl of the Holland Trek office designed the Phase. I had it confused with another project that Michael L. was working on.
Now it is time for me to get in a quick ride and a nap. Still a bit jetlagged from that 12 hour time difference.
