The Spinal trike

Jakob sent me these renderings of his “Spinal” recumbent trike for commuting. This was his final project to get his Masters Degree in design in Denmark. I wish I could tell you more about the design, but I couldn’t read the bit of text accompanying the images that was in Danish. Oh well, thanks for the submission Jakob.

Jason sent me a link to another student design, the “Split Wheeler” (scroll down a bit to see it). This bike is designed for kids who are first learning how to ride. It reminds me a lot of the Shift concept bike from a few years ago.

Lastly, I want to point out a Core77 Blog post about the Kestrel RT700, which Outside magazine recently named the “Best Road Bike 2007”. The bike was designed by IDE Product Design and Development. You can read more about the design of the bike on IDE’s website.
