Not long ago, I posted about the Trek “Designing the Ride” exhibit at the Eisner Museum. Chad Lockart, a Senior Designer at Trek, was nice enough to send me some of his pictures from the event’s opening night. After getting a sneak peek of the exhibit, I really want to get up to Milwaukee to check it out in person.

The exhibit covers several different bike projects from start to finish and, for each project, includes design research, sketches, renderings, CAD drawings, prototypes and final products, all with commentary written by the designers who worked on each project. Chad pointed out that the following projects are spotlighted in the show:

Trek TTX carbon and Madone Road bikes
LeMond Triomphe Carbon Road bikes
Trek Lime/Shimano Coasting bikes
Trek Pavement research & design including Soho and Portland commuter bikes
Gary Fisher Fat Possum mountain bike
Trek Session 10 -the big hit ten incher
In addition to the above mentioned bikes, the exhibit shows a bunch of Bontrager stuff, miscellaneous aftermarket projects, and images of the ID team’s friends and family.

Chad sent me too many images for one post, so I am going to break it up into two. Today, I am posting six pictures that mainly show road and commuter bike projects. Stay tuned for more images from the show, including some mountain bike stuff, later this week.
