Today’s post is also a rendering, though not quite as old as the one in the previous post. This one is a quick form sketch that I did in Photoshop a couple of years ago. The frame is a bit bulky looking and could probably use some refinement, but there are few elements in this concept that I do like. The way the bare carbon seat and bottom bracket sections appear to pierce through the red main beam is interesting. Of course, that relationship would need to be explored in 3d to really make it work. Overall, I like the flowing form created by the brightly colored main frame section. I have always liked the old Giant MCR2 and earlier Lotus/Boardman bikes designed by Mike Burrows. As you can see, both of those designs heavily influenced this one.
