Ridiculous UCI has absolutely nothing to do with advanced bicycle design. Never pay any heed to them ever again. Boycott them entirely. Ignore them entirely. Nothing they do is or has been good for anybody at all ever, an economic fact. Contemptible UCI drags, holds back, and discourages innovation, experimentation, even instrumentation!
The UCI is only irrelevant to bike design if the industry chooses to focus less on the sport side of cycling. That is definitely already happening to a point, but it would be nice to see more real innovation that has absolutely nothing to do with trickle down race tech.
Maybe if pro cyclists were allowed to innovate through design and engineering they wouldn’t feel so inclined to innovate through biochemistry…
I think it would be rather fun to have more “open” races where any bicycle can enter as long as it is human powered. If that style of race were to gain popularity it could generate some really interesting results.
