Sexy, and yet nothing I am looking for: a steel hardtail 29er with the Alfine 11 I don't have to build à la cart. Only Charge and Genesis are doing the Alfine, and not 29er. Sigh...

This is really beautiful... complex, and elegant.

The best part is that there it doesn't feel stifled... I honestly have little-to-no interest in mountain bikes, but it is fantastic to see a design that unapologetically strives for unified aesthetic and functional perfection. I feel like every modern road bike has a little asterisk next to it, and the footnote says...

* as superlative as possible, within UCI regulations.

"Aero" road bikes... the venge, S5, whatever, are nice bikes, sure, but you can tell just by looking at them that they are the result of chewing up and spitting out a very restrictive rule book. By the time the designers and engineers are finished pushing and pulling points to make it aero and UCI-legal, the only thing left to design is a headset, a bottle cage, a seatpost clamp...
