After a great vacation riding in Italy a couple weeks ago, I was especially excited about the Giro this year. With the race underway over the weekend, I was getting ready to post today about bikes in the peloton, including the new Wilier TT bike that debuted on Saturday. I am going to save that post for later though…if at all. After hearing of the tragic death of Leopard-Trek rider Wouter Weylandt following a crash in today’s stage, writing about racing bikes and design seems more than a little trivial. Instead, I just want to sincerely extend my sympathies to the family, friends, and teammates of a cyclist who died way too young. Very sad news…RIP Wouter Weylandt.
