US Pro Championships meet-up?

The USA Cycling Pro Championship races are coming up later this month- August 29th and 30th. I am just wondering if any Bicycle Design readers plan to be in Greenville for the races. It would be great to meet any of you who are in town that weekend, so leave a comment if you plan to attend. If I hear from a few people, I will schedule a meet-up and post details closer to the event.

Update 8/21: The US Pro meet-up will take place at Barley’s Taproom at 3:30pm on Saturday, August 29th following the time trial. A few other bike bloggers will be there including Byron from Bike Hugger, Robb from Mountain Biking by 198, Josh from Pro Bike Wrench, Briggs from Euro Peloton, Frank from the Tour de France blog, and others. Feel free to drop by and say hi if you are in Greenville for the races.

I will be doing the P3 “Stars and Stripes Challenge” ride on Sunday morning before the road race. It is a great ride that takes place on the US Pro course right before the pros race. Proceeds go to the Lance Armstrong Foundation and other cancer research organizations, so consider participating if you will be in town. You can register for the ride here. If you can’t do the ride but want to help out, you can also make a donation on the website.

Lastly, I want to mention that I’ll be traveling in China (and working long days) for the next couple of weeks, so posting is likely to be less frequent than usual. I will pass along any interesting links that come to my attention on Twitter, so follow me there if you are interested.

I'll be heading there (driving 12 hours down and arriving on Saturday morning, leaving after the road race) to photograph for Kenda. Any recommendations of places to stay?

Micheal, you definitely want to stay downtown close to the start/finish. The best hotel would be the Hampton Inn & Suites at Riverplace (864-271-8700) which is right there. Other downtown hotels are the Westin Poinsett and the Hyatt Regency. Send me an email if you need more info.
