i used to wonder about the rack too but the fact is its perfect for carrying a helmet you place the helmet in it upside down and it just sits there even when the bike is being wheeled . I use this feature all the time . I am not sure whether this was intentional as part of the design but i really like it

...anyone who goes to the strida site will discover this, but i thought it might be good to point out for the casual perusers...the strida 5.0 can be purchased, here the usa, at least, in a great variety of colors...
...i'd hope that wouldn't be a main selling point but cha never know...brushed aluminum looks functional but the painted ones are tre' cool...

...other than that, the solstice is here & as of sunday, the days are getting incrementally longer, yeah !...so happy winter solstice & good holidays to james & all the loyal posters...
...this is a wonderfully enjoyable & informative site...
...cheers...

Mallwalkers, huh? Gee I can’t imagine who “anonymously” left that comment. To answer your question though, thanks to the small diameter front wheel, toe overlap with my giant shoes was not a problem.

Fritz, thanks for the well wishes. You have a great 08 as well.
