BikeFast tray

Thanks to Nadia of the excellent design blog Pan-Dan for pointing this out to me. I especially like the rider’s view photo that shows a partially eaten slice of bread sitting on the tray. I am not sure how long that would last on my ride to work. Perhaps the tray needs a shield in the front to keep the rider’s breakfast from blowing away. Anyway, I thought the concept was fun and it made me smile. As great as the tray idea is, I think I will continue to eat breakfast on my bike without one.

I also want to mention this Pingable post from last week. There are some really nice looking blogs on the list and I am honored that Bicycle Design was included.

…bread & water…i’m glad thanksgiving is an american tradition (canada’s is in oct.) or i’d feel the need to send some leftovers to nadia in italy…

…but thanks for the post, banana boy…hah !…

Drop a Big Mac on it, Katrina wouldn’t be able to shift one of those off the tray.

Good one Marrock. That shot would probably help to boost sales of the tray in the US market.

…i’m almost surprised that SUV’s don’t come equipped w/ a similar device that slides out between the the driver & the steering wheel…

…here you go america, one more unnecessary thing to further distract you while you go about the most dangerous aspect of your day…

…but hey, no crumbs or spills on that carpeting, & notice how those plastic fenders almost ‘heal’ themselves when they clip objects, like say, bicycles…

    1. Just don’t apply sudden brakes. Either you can be soiled with food, or you’ll embarrass some one else on the road when your bread and butter flings onto their face.

    2. Think about the aero drag of a bread slice. Jeez.. 🙂

3.The tray shouldn’t interfere with one’s pedaling, and while getting on and off.

    4. It is pretty much exposed to the elements. Dust, dirt, rain. Perhaps a hemispherical fiberglass covering or something would be possible, with a shutter that can be opened or closed up in front (maybe)

    5. In 3rd world countries, you have people on bicycles with trays, and racks up in front to sell tickets, cigarettes, pirated cd’s etc…

    6. Dress pretty, or someone will toss a penny out of pity onto the tray.
