Off to Brasstown Bald

Last year, my kids and I really enjoyed watching this stage of the Tour de Georgia. Here we are stopped by one of the many waterfalls along the hike to the top. This year, the Brasstown Bald stage falls on a school day, so I will be there with just my youngest (this is his last chance to ride in the backpack carrier; he is starting to get heavy). I am not sure how many readers of this blog will be out watching the stage, but if you are on the mountain and you see us, come up to say hi.

It should be an interesting stage tomorrow. After yesterday’s breakaway, I guess Leipheimer, Hincapie, and Danielson will be working to support Janez Brajkovic. Levi referred to Brajkovic as a talented up and comer in his pre race comments, but I doubt he expected this. Surprises like yesterday are what make bicycle racing exciting. The pre race favorites are virtually out of overall contention, but I’m looking forward to some great racing tomorrow and through the weekend. I’ll post my TdG pictures to flickr as soon as I get a chance.
