Keep in mind though that this contest was open to custom framebuilders who created the bikes for a specific customer. Some cyclists are pretty picky about saddle choice, so my guess is that this is still somebody’s personal favorite.

Or maybe it was just that the rivets tie into the aeronautical theme.
