Swobo street bikes

That’s right. I still have a Swobo brochure in my catalog file from 1995. Nothing weird about that, right? Even scarier is the fact that I knew exactly where to find it. I liked what Swobo was doing with their design oriented bike clothing ten years ago, and I am glad to see the company doing well today in its second iteration. Their clothing line is definitely hip, so I can’t wait to see the company’s new “street bike” line created by Sky Yaeger.

Some of you will probably remember my post a couple of months ago about the changes at Bianchi. In addition to the comments to the post, I got an email message from a reader who thought that I was crazy because, as he stated, Sky Yaeger has designed the absolute best bikes that Bianchi has made in the last 10 years. That is probably true (not the part about me being crazy, the part about Sky knowing what she is doing). As I said in that post, I like her bikes. I wouldn’t mind owning a few of the singlespeeds that she introduced during her long career at Bianchi. The point of the post was not to criticize Sky; I was just happy to hear of changes because I don’t think that Bianchi has had a unified marketing plan in recent years. That is why I am glad to hear that Ms. Yaeger has landed at Swobo. To me, that fit makes perfect sense and I am looking forward to seeing the products that come out of it. I have some ideas what the bikes might look like, but I won’t speculate at this point. You can bet that I will be back to discuss them when they start to materialize.

    Yes he is…

BUT I have two pair of Swobo wool socks that I just love to death. I can’t wear either pair anymore because they are coming apart and have shrunk a little… but I refuse to get rid of them for sentimental reasons…

Yep, I would say that there is no bigger bike geek than me, but Tim’s comment reminds me that there are others who are at least tied with me in that regard.

I don’t know. On the bike-geek scale Tim is way up there. I’m just a lowly worm wannabe myself.
