A few links

If you haven’t already seen it, check out the short profile in the July issue of Inc. Magazine of Trek Chairman Richard Burke. I found it last week via a post on Khabar Bike ( a great blog for those of you interested in the latest new bicycle products).

Recently, the Make blog showed us an 18 foot tall bike. Are you interested in making one of those? Me neither. Maybe you should just check out the Onion’s Tour de France highlights from last week instead.

In response to my last post, 54 asked about links to pictures of Alex Pong’s Magic mountain bike for Cannondale. Nathaniel commented with this link to a photo of the bike. Also, if you are interested, you can check out the 1993 patent for the bike here. Mr Pong’s bike was on the cover of the Jan 1994 issue of Bicycling Magazine and I remember seeing several articles about it around that time. If I remember correctly, even ID magazine had an article about Pong. I can’t find any archives of those old articles on the web. Does any one know where to find more info about the bike? I can’t remember exactly why it never came to be.

Thanks guys, that was pretty cool, I’ll add that pic to my collection.

Haven’t seen pic. of the bike for ages. As for the bike, I think the weight of that thing kind of kill it, if not the price… But, It does looked very cool, even after all these years!
