Catching up (whew)

Vacations are great, but work really does seem to pile up when nobody is around to do it. Go figure. I have a lot to get caught up on, so if you are one of the many people who sent me an email in the past week, my response might be a little slow. I received a few emails last week from designers who are interested in getting into the bike industry. Those emails, along with messages from people who have product ideas that they want to manufacture, are getting pretty common. I receive several a week now. I don’t work in the bike industry myself, so I can’t really help any of you directly. However, if you are a student and have some bicycle designs in your portfolio, send them to me. If they look good, I will post them along with your contact information so that people who do work in the industry can get in touch with you. Several industry people read this blog so it is a great way to get some design exposure if you really are interested in a career designing bicycles and related products.

I have been away for almost a week without a computer, so I have a lot of reading to do to catch up on my favorite blogs (especially now that it is tour time). A new one that I will be following for the next couple of weeks is Rich Hincapie’s blog for the Greenville News. Rich will be blogging from France for the rest of the race as he watches his brother George compete in his first Tour de France post Lance. So far there are only a few posts, but I am looking forward to more once Rich lands in France right in time for the first mountain stages. Check out his blog; I think he offers a interesting perspective on the race.

Thanks for the link Justin. I have enjoyed seeing all the cycling coverage on the Link blog lately. Keep it up.
